In this guide you will learn exactly how to take care of your Dreamweavers® cushions and rugs — the right way.

All of our products are handmade using 100% Polyester — an exceptional fabric that is less prone to staining than natural fibres. During the dyeing process, less room is left in the fibres for soiling, making it easier to keep looking its best.

How To Clean Your Dreamweavers® Rug

  1. Shake well and vacuum with a nozzle only, or use a lint roller.
  2. Spot clean with a suitable cleaning agent (patch test first), or use a specialist dry cleaning service.
  3. Use a clean, fine-fibre brush to bring the nap of the fabric back to its original look.
  4. Periodically run your hand gently over the surface to lift the elements and maintain its appearance.

With hundreds of individual elements on each design, occasionally one may come loose due to accident or wear and tear — much like a shirt losing a button. If this happens, simply use a needle and thread to sew the element back. The fine thread will sink into the nap of the fabric and the repair will be invisible.

Shimmer cushions and rugs may shed fibre initially. This is the nature of the fabric when cut — some loose fibres are released during manufacturing and is not a design fault. Shedding will reduce over time as any loose fibres come away naturally.

How To Clean Your Dreamweavers® Cushions

  1. Carefully remove the infill, being mindful of the zip.
  2. Turn the cushion cover inside out.
  3. Machine wash on a gentle, low-temperature cycle or hand wash with like colours.
  4. Tumble dry on the lowest heat setting only, or hang to dry away from direct sunlight.
  5. Use a clean, fine-fibre brush to bring the nap of the fabric back to its original look.

As with rugs, if an element comes loose, use a needle and thread to sew it back — the thread will sink into the nap and will not be visible.

All cushions should be checked for colour fastness against any fabric sofa or leather furniture prior to use. Dreamweavers® accepts no liability for dye transfer. Please note that chemicals used for cleaning floors — including bleach — may damage your rug. We do not over-dye our products and all dye molecules are locked into the fibres.
